West Adams Avenues

West Adams is one of the largest historic districts, in Los Angeles. Developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it contains many fine examples of Victorian, Craftsman, Colonial, Queen Anne, Spanish Revival, and many other architectural styles. At the time of its founding it was the City’s elite residential district, home to such icons of the film and music worlds as Ray Charles, Little Richard, and Hattie McDaniel. Today, its population is as diverse as its architecture.

8th Avenue Gets a Facelift

Once again, Council Member Wesson and his hard working staff at Council District 10 are putting forth their welcomed efforts in the Avenues.

Work started this morning for the re-surfacing of 8th Avenue. While most of the Avenues were re-surfaced last year, 8th Avenue was missed due to weather issues and had to be rescheduled.

The whole process has an impact on parking but the effort is so worth the minimal hassle. Thank you Herb Wesson and Council District 10!!

This is going to be terrific: so glad this avenue is being done, the rest of the avenues look so good. Thanks to the Councilman and his staff, who do so much for West Adams.

Well, it's dusty today, and there are beeping trucks and noisy heavy machinery. But I'm so looking forward to the end result! Gliding home over the smooth asphalt. Bring it on.
