"PICNIC IN THE PARK" This Saturday

FUN, FOOD AND GAMES--ACTIVITIES FOR THE DAY

If you haven't already heard, the West Adams Avenues annual "Picnic in the Park" is tomorrow, Saturday, July 30, 2011. If you remember last year's event then you know you are in for a real treat this year!

Being held at the Benny H. Potter Memorial Park and brought to you by Council Member Herb Wesson and the Council District 10 Team, you and your entire family can join others in the Avenues for a FULL day and night of memories. The "Picnic in the Park" begins at noon, followed by "Movies in the Park" at 7:00 PM. So bring you chairs and blankets!

This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office of the President and prepare them for future public service opportunities.

The application for the White House Internship Program’s spring 2012 session has been posted. Please take the time to think of five future young leaders you believe would serve as great White House Interns, and personally encourage them to apply. Consider contacting your alma mater and encouraging career services to promote the internship. Below is more information that might be helpful to prospective White House Interns:
