HPOZ Public Hearing Tonight

There will be a public hearing tonight on the adoption of a Preservation Plan for our existing West Adams Terrace HPOZ.

While our Avenues has been under Historic Preservation Overlay Zone for a couple of years now, our area has been using city guidelines when it comes to changes made to historic properties. This Preservation Plan will become our own and tonight is the night for you to learn more about the plan and have your input heard.

An informational open house will happen from 6:00PM - 7:00PM where you can learn more about the plan, ask questions, and provide constructive feedback. The formal public hearing follows at 7:00PM.

October's Neighborhood Meeting

Well, gang. It is that time of the month again...The second Wednesday of the Month, where we as neighbors come together to see what is going on and--of course--make a difference in our very own West Adams Avenues.

  • Update with our Senior Lead Officer, Tracey Hauter
  • Council Office Update with Kimani Black
  • UNNC Update with Evangela Anderson and Jeff Camp
  • Park Update with Carlton Stubbs

A new "Neighborhood Coupon" program will be unveiled and there will be a special presentation "Shake Out 2010...are we ready?"

To cap off the evening we will be having a special celebration (food included) to honor our County Prosecutor, Jan DeAndrade, who was promoted and will be moving on. Jan, as many know, was a HUGE asset to our neighborhood and will definitely be missed. Come show your support and wish her luck in her new endeavor.

Bring a Neighbor and I'll see you tomorrow night at 7PM.

In the meantime, I'll see you around the neighborhood.

UNNC MEETING ERROR

In yesterday's post about gating West Adams Avenues, I incorrectly stated that at tonight's UNNC meeting would bring up this issue in Planning and Zoning. It was actually done at the Planning and Zoning Committee meeting held on Wednesday. I apologize for the confusion.
